The Curtainsiders are Coming!!!

In Europe, most delivery trucks are Curtainsiders. Here in North America, most are not!

This is due largely to Europe having so many small towns with little infrastructure for loading dock to loading dock deliveries, which has coined the term, “Final-Mile Delivery”. Final Mile Delivery are retail deliveries to the consumer’s home/ business and the success of logistics companies like Amazon, have pushed many retailers to follow suit, as their customers expectations for delivery to their door is becoming the norm.

Thus, we are seeing renewed interest in Curtainsider bodies, which provides the ability to:

  • Off-load from the curb-side on a city street
  • Off-load large deliveries through the side of the truck
  • Remove the hazard of delivering via the rear-door aluminum walk-out ramp

Going Forward, the flexibility of Curtainsiders and multiple configuration options available in the market (see below), allows us to put more thought into the correct truck to accommodate delivery needs. As customer demands continue to escalate, we have more options that ever before.

If you need help with this, please contact me, happy to discuss your needs.
